Press Release
Why is there Silence over Registration Violations in the Second Round of the Presidential Election?
(Translated)

Many observers, supervisors, and politicians spoke about violations in registration in the second round of the presidential elections in Tunisia which included names registered were those of deceased, and some of the people were registered without reaching the legal age for election, others were registered without their permission, and there were identification cards numbers of persons classified as terrorists and were used, there were numbers that cannot be of national identification cards. Adding to the onlookers' disarray is the withdrawal by the Supreme Commission for Elections of the rules of information on the registration process after talk about real cases of violations have emerged.

But there was suspicious silence of many of the leaders of the participating political parties in the elections and the candidates for the presidency, whether the winners or losers, and whether they were confessing to these breaches or denying them, and whether they believe the violations will impact the results or those who agree that they exist but will not affect the outcome of the electoral process. So why is this?

Speaking of these registration violations which have been carried out since the year 2011, may refer the discussion to the validity of the authorized numbers that showed inflated numbers of registered and elected in the legislative elections in October 23, 2011, and then in the legislative elections in October 26, 2014, and then in the first round for the presidency elections in the November 23, 2014, and then again in the second round in the December 21, 2014.

Will there be great fallacies regarding the number of registered and the number of voters? Are we in front of a dangerous collusion? Is it right to cover up the facts on the pretext of preserving Tunisia's reputation in the world?

Nevertheless, there remain three bright points for the people of Tunisia; and is among the most important points of strengths for the upcoming phase:

First, the declared results do not give the authority for anyone to tamper with the country and the people as they please. The party with the most votes in the legislative body, its declared results does not exceed 15.4% of those eligible to vote in Tunisia (1,279,941 from 8, 289,924 eligible for election), as well as the winner of the presidential election, his declared results does not exceed 20.9% of those eligible to vote in accordance with the followed procedures.

Second, the public rejection of the country to violence and terrorism which qualifies the people of Tunisia to be involved in politics and real change, according to the method of the Messenger of Allah (saw), who established the state of Islam through making every one responsible and through real peaceful change without entering communities in the strife of fighting amongst themselves; the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:

«كُلُّ الْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَامٌ دَمُهُ وَمالُهُ وعِرْضُه»

"Every Muslim is forbidden for (must not violate) a Muslim, his blood, money, and honor" (Narrated by Ibn Majah).

Third, the public's recognition of the real issues in governance and economy (the need to change the legislation, rejection of rulers' immunity, foreign dependency, squandering wealth, people's right in daily living, and supporting the issues of Muslims ...), and to wait for the real tangible change, and the rejection of the people of Tunisia of the reverence of people, including politicians and parties. No one is above accountability, and not to line up blindly behind people while possessing sufficient experience to hold accountable the rulers for their failure and betrayal on the basis of the true rules of Shariah.
