On 24th February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. The crisis is ongoing and has garnered a lot of international attention, with the Western countries immediately condemning Russia’s actions and unleashing a slew of reports meant to turn public opinion against Russia’s actions.

The BBC reported on April 25 that Kenyan women are often violated by private water sellers who exploit them due to their circumstances of poverty. The current government structures are such that water demands are not being met and private unregulated entities are absorbing the market share with their own street services. The unscrupulous water sellers have no moral objection to harassing women and physically violating them.

During the second week of Ramadan 2022, the homes of some Muslims living in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh were demolished. There have been clashes with Muslims and Hindu residents since the start of Ramadan with reports of Hindu nationalists initiating acts of intimidation with public marches that messaged hatred against Muslims.

On the 27th of April 2022, a hearing began for first Muslim-American woman nominee for a legal position on the US federal bench. Nusrat Jahan Choudhury is President Joe Biden's nominee for US district judge for the eastern district of New York. The position is hailed as a great advancement for women’s rights and the representation of Muslim women in the USA.
