BUT watch IDLY as about 1.8 million children of the Ummah in Yemen are malnourished and mercilessly annihilated? How can we be happy that our children are growing and thriving, when an estimated 500,000 children in Yemen may not see their next birthday as a result of the today’s war against Islam.

The evil which is taking place in Yemen is clear for all to see. It has become a “living hell” for children, to put it in the words of Geert Cappelaere, the regional director for Unicef. A place where an estimated 130 children die every day from starvation and disease. The situation will most likely worsen, with intensifying fighting and a continuing blockade on the country’s ports of entry.

But the question that we need to answer is does ‘Gender Justice’ or rather ‘Gender Equality’ achieve this important goal? This is what I will address in my talk today Insha Allah.
