Sadiq Khan for Mayor??

Sadiq Khan of opposition Labour Party is the strong favourite to win London's mayoral election on Thursday 5th May 2016, after a contest marked by religious tensions and accusations of racism.
Polls show Khan, the son of a bus driver, is as much as 20 percentage points ahead of rival Conservative Zac Goldsmith in the race to run one of the world's top financial centers. If he wins, he will succeed current Conservative Mayor Boris Johnson to become the first Muslim to head a major Western capital.

Has the illusion that joining mainstream secular politics to benefit the Muslims and refute the Islamophobes been adequately shattered among the chattering classes of self proclaimed British Muslims, who idealise secular democracy and have relegated Islam to a spiritual not political Aqeeda yet? ...
The dirty politics of the Conservatives, has for weeks focused on Khan's faith and past appearances alongside supposed radical Muslim speakers, accusing him of giving a "platform, oxygen and cover" to extremists.
Khan’s response as expected was to distance himself from the Imam in question, Suliman Ghani, who is known to be a sincere, pious and decent man. He has no such links or “extremist” views, as Khan well knows which only proves Khan’s cowardly stance of backtracking from Imam Suliman as desperate and cowardly.
Amid the anti-Semitism row this week, when faced with defending a fellow party member let alone Muslim, Khan again distanced himself from standing for the truth, although veteran party member Ken Livingstone was suspended for their colleague supporting Naz Shah and making additional comments. Khan instead rushed to appease the Jewish community of London and rubberstamp his commitment to them.
A few weeks ago Khan commented that a question should be asked about “what is going on” in families with Muslim women who wear hijabs and niqabs.
The MP for Tooting said, “When I was younger you didn’t see people in hijabs and niqabs, not even in Pakistan when I visited my family. “In London we got on. People dressed the same... What you see now is people born and raised here who are choosing to wear the jilbab or niqab. There is a question to be asked about what is going on in those homes....What’s insidious is if people are starting to think it is appropriate to treat women differently or that it has been forced on them, people to see their faces, eye contact matters”.
It’s painfully obvious that Sadiq Khan has never used his position of influence to support Muslims or Islam. He proudly admits at every opportunity that he voted in support of gay marriage and accepted the consequences of being brought into disrepute by Muslims in his constituency for doing so. He plays the victim card on demand and regurgitates the same well-rehearsed lines about being excommunicated by Muslim extremists.
As a metaphor for the baby kissing politician Sadiq Khan refers to his daughters at every press conference at least four or five times, hoping to make it apparent to all, of his ‘progressive’ views towards women and how they’re secular and unlike those held by proponents of Islam.
Despite all his efforts Sadiq Khan’s success is largely down to the grass roots Labour party support base. Most Londoners can see through his desperate attempts to impress, and few have fallen for his endearing personality. In fact he is a walking representation of the Hadith of Prophet Muhammed (saw)...
«مَنْ أَسْخَطَ اللَّهَ فِي رِضَا النَّاسِ سَخِطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ، وأَسْخَطَ عَلَيْهِ مَنْ أرضاهُ فِي سَخَطِهِ، وَمَنْ أَرْضَى اللَّهَ فِي سَخَطِ النَّاسِ رَضِي اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ وَأَرْضَى عَنْهُ مَنْ أَسْخَطَهُ فِي رِضَاهُ حَتَّى يُزَيِّنَهُ وَيُزَيِّنَ قَوْلَهُ وَعَمَلَهُ فِي عَيْنِهِ»
“He who displeased Allah for seeking the pleasure of people, Allah is displeased with him and those people are also displeased, for pleasing whom he had earned Allah’s displeasure. And he who pleases Allah, although by it he displeased people, Allah is pleased with him, and also those people whom he had displeased for pleasing Allah become pleased with him. Allah makes him splendid and his speech and acts in the eyes of others beautiful.” [Tibrani]
We live in times where the multitude of fitan at every level of society caused by secular politics is undeniable, even to the masses. Muslims are at risk of sheer hypocrisy if we call for and prefer the politics of secular liberalism to Islamic politics and its overall objectives.
For those who seek to uphold Sunnah and crush bidah; be aware that the greatest bidah is to rule by other than Islam, and the greatest Sunnah is to implement the Shara’ as our beloved Rasool (saw) lived for... and for those who call for Tawheed, know that there is no greater manifestation of the Oneness of Allah az wa jal than making Him (swt) Sovereign in every single rule that governs life.
(الْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن دِينِكُمْ فَلاَ تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِ الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلاَمَ دِينًا)
“Today the unbelievers have given up all their hope of vanquishing your religion. Have no fear of them, fear Me. Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you and approved Al-Islam as a Deen (way of life for you).” [Al Maida: 3]
