Ramadan: A month of Battles and Victories

Ramadan is a month of significance for Muslims. Throughout history, significant battles have been fought by the Islamic state during this sacred month, with victory attributed to Allah (swt). It is a time of increased devotion (ibadat), drawing Muslims closer to their Creator. It reminds us that Allah (swt) determines the outcomes, and He instructs us to strive, allowing Him to enact justice through our efforts.

Allah (swt) states in the Quran:

[قَاتِلُوهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللّهُ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِينَ]

“Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands, disgrace them, give you victory over them, and heal the hearts of a believing people.” [At-Tawbah: 14)].

Palestine has once again fallen into the hands of non-believers, resulting in the displacement and death of millions over the past 76 years. Al-Aqsa has been taken by the colonialist Jewish entity, undermining the Muslims.

Since October 2023, another battle has commenced, leading to genocide against the Palestinian people, displacing 1.9 million, causing 45,000 deaths, including 15,000 children, orphaning 25,000, and subjecting 2.1 million to starvation.

Despite these atrocities, the people of Gaza have shown patience and imaan in Allah (swt). They observe Ramadan, breaking their fast with mere water and grass soup. They continue to pray Taraweeh, despite facing violence and death when doing so. They ask Allah (swt) for victory and implore the Muslim Ummah for aid, yet the Ummah remains silent.

During the Battle of Hattin in 1187, Salahudin Al-Ayyubi led 30,000 men, liberating Jerusalem from the Christian Crusaders on Laylat al-Qadr. He expelled non-believers from one of Islam's holiest sites and restored peace to Jerusalem. His mission was to seek Allah's (swt) pleasure and to be the hand through which His (swt) justice was served upon the disbelievers.

Today, we are presented with a similar opportunity as Salahudin Al-Ayyubi. Palestine has been seized, and it is our duty to fight for its liberation from colonial powers driven by their hunger for power and profit.

It is time to extend the list of battles fought and won during Ramadan.

It is time to demand for the armies to be moved, and for our brothers and sisters to be saved.

It is time to rise to the occasion, and retake Palestine from the colonial powers.

It is time to demand our lands back.

It is time to have a righteous leader, who leads his people with the correct system.

It is time for Muslims to start writing the end of this dark chapter of Islamic history, so that Allah (swt) may grant us the victory and start a new chapter, in which our brothers and sisters are more important than money and power and where the rules of Allah (swt) are followed.
