The Hijab is Not a Personal Choice; it is a part of the Social System in Sharia
News:
Teen Vogue ran a story titled “Wearing the Hijab Should Be a Personal Choice, American Muslim Women Say.”. The aim of the article was to promote diversity and inclusion and give voice to so called marginalized groups. The following quote can be found in the article, “Since the late 19th century, this personal yet public symbol of a Muslim woman’s faith has been used as a political tool to control women’s bodily autonomy. The first known instance of a hijab ban dates back to when the British colonized Egypt. The consul general, Lord Cromer, called the hijab a “fatal obstacle” to Egyptian women participating in Western civilization. Back home in Britain, though, he presided over the National League for Opposing Women’s Suffrage.”
Comment:
Such articles are deliberately constructed to target the impressionable minds of the young Muslims as well as condition society with intolerant views about Islam. They are nuanced in their argument to appear that they are pro-Muslimah, but we must be vigilant to be giving any kind of validation to these flawed arguments. We just remember the sordid history of the Orientalist attacks on the Muslim mindsets that is still active an alive today in new styles and forms.
Hijab has nothing to do with choice as this is a Liberal Secular notion that allows for tolerance in disobedience, that’s the whole point of the argument! If we are free to do, we are also free not to do by default, that of course undermines the laws of Allah (swt) as this gives victory to Shaytaan and the enemies of Islam. The young Muslim women are not truly praised for Hijab, they are praised and celebrating her sister who does NOT wear hijab as a human rights matter ordained by the mind of man.
This is proven in the fact that all of those patinas like France and China, wear Hijab is a crime are “tolerated” for protecting human rights even when women are prevented from education, medical treatment and are even violently attacked.
This gross hypocrisy cannot creep into the thinking of our youth as it sets us up for failure in the next life;
Allah (swt) warns us of the lies of the Kuffar;
“On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray:) "Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith.” [TMQ 2: 286].
The lesson here is if we see our own Muslim brothers and sisters taking this stance of compromise and diversity this will only serve as a trick to take the Muslims off the path of Khilafah (Caliphate) and authority for Islam. This is how the Muslim soul will remain content with Quran and Sunnah being diluted in life and only seen in private ritual rather than global dominance.
