Abductions and Forced Disappearance: A Symbol of a Failed Ideology
News:
Kenya is witnessing an unprecedented wave of abductions and killings targeting various individuals. The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) expresses deep concern over the alarming rise in abductions, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings across the country. This disturbing trend. Some groups of young protesters marched in downtown Nairobi on Monday, 30th December, while small groups of others staged sit-ins as clouds of tear gas hung in the air. They chanted slogans against the government, with some holding placards denouncing illegal detentions as police on horseback patrolled nearby.
Comment:
Abductions and killings have become a global phenomenon that both states and organized crime gangs use as a tool to silence a political discourse and eliminate gang rivalry. As for the state, this amounts to state terrorism that abductions become a means to eliminate any political opposition or ideological threat. The current liberal ideology who’s set of values are human rights, freedoms and a right to judicial due process, for any liberal State sovereignty and government legitimacy these values must be upheld.
State sponsored abduction is a key symbol in today’s reality that liberal ideology is intellectually declined and bankrupt, that cannot face any opposition ideology intellectually. With volumes of criminal legislations at the disposal of the liberal judiciary systems and all the values that form the foundation of the system crumble before Islam. After declaration by the former US president George W. Bush on the war on terror, Islam was painted as an ideology of terror. Since then the world witnessed States across the globe execute abductions with impunity. All state terrorism was unleashed on the Muslim Ummah as the world remain oblivion on this heinous crime.
Kenya after the adoption of legislation on terror, Muslims fell victim for over 15 years of this barbaric legislation that unleashed numerous abductions and forced disappearances to date with no clue of their fate. This huge appetite by the State today has extended to include non-Muslims that has led the general population to awaken from the long slumber to voice a public outcry on increased abduction in the country. As much as it remains a crime its high time the ordinary citizens elevate their understanding of the international situation, to view the Muslims as the victims of the bankrupt liberal ideology.
Islam the only beacon of hope and true liberation from the shackles of enslavement of liberal capitalism, that will absolutely and in a definite manner uphold human dignity, honor, life, blood and property as the legislative objective (maqaasid) of the Islamic Shariah implementation. Islamic history is full of examples of justice for both Muslims and non-Muslims right from its establishment in Madinah by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) until the fall of the Ottoman caliphate in 1924 CE.
