Volodymyr Zelenskyy Is a Lesson for Muslims Regarding the Folly of Alliance with the US

On 24 October, Fox Business reported, “A tanker carrying Russian diesel intermittently signaled it was headed to the U.S., according to ship-tracking data, potentially marking a resumption of direct shipments amid President Trump’s push to increase Russian fuel supplies to global markets.”

Comment:

After the failure of the de facto ruler of Pakistan, Asim Munir, in securing Trump an escape from the quagmire of war with Iran, Trump has turned to Putin of Russia for assistance, whilst betraying Zelenskyy of Ukraine in his hour of need.

On 9 October 2026, U.S. President Trump announced that he had reached an agreement with his Russian counterpart Putin, allowing Moscow to immediately offer diesel on global markets, and that “Diesel Prices for Americans and, indeed, the World, will be COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST!.”

Then on 17 October 2026, Trump signed an executive order that suspends the sanctions imposed on Russia, justifying it with national interests. The U.S. Treasury Department announced the suspension of sanctions on Russian diesel exports under a general license effective until April 2027.

Trump did so even though America implemented sanctions on Russia to diminish its abilities it capabilities in its war against Ukraine. Moreover, Trump turned on Zelenskyy.

On October 10, 2026, during a meeting with journalists, Trump made a striking statement: “I think it’s time for Ukraine to get new president.” And Trump blinded the forces of Ukraine in their hour of needed by limiting the satellite system he extended to them previously. on 15 October 2026, Reuters reported, “The order to limit a satellite system used by Ukraine ​for battlefield communications and drone operations came from inside the White House, according to two US officials and a Western official briefed on the matter.”

Thus, Zelenskyy ate the bitter fruit of alliance with the US. The US first gave him the green light to fight Russia, extending him support and taking steps to cripple Russia. The full price of Zelenskyy’s mistake is being paid by the army, the economy and the people of Ukraine. And now, Trump strengthens Russia and weakens Ukraine as American interests have changed.

As for Putin, his weakness in political thinking remains a burden on his people and their army. Did Putin forget how the US exploited Russia in supporting its agent in Syria, Bashar Al-Assad, and then expelled Russia from Syria as soon as it found Ahmed Al-Shar’a to secure its interests? Did Putin forget that the US instigated the war with Ukraine, a war of attrition which has brought Russia down from possessing the capabilities of a major power, to a middle power of far lesser capabilities?

Yet, despite all this, Putin sent Lavrov to herd Iran into the trap of negotiations with the US. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation said on 19 October 2026 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s statement and answers to media questions at a joint news conference following talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Tehran, October 19, 2026, and that he stated, “I reiterated our country’s readiness to help find mutually acceptable negotiated solutions.”

O Muslims!

Neither Zelenskyy nor Putin can learn from the painful consequences regarding alliance with the US, bringing destruction to their countries and regions. They are limited in their thinking as they have adopted capitalism and its concept of international relations. Moreover, as former communist states, they lack political experience in the capitalist version of international relations, in comparison to the US. Had they an alternative view, perhaps both states would have withdrawn from all relations with the US, abandoning it. Indeed, dealing with the US unleashes harm, treachery and duplicity, whilst isolating the US as an international pariah is the path securing all states from harm.

As for the agents of the US, like Asim Munir, their cling to the US is that of a slave to his master. They will not learn any lessons as they are of the Americans, and not of their own people.

As for you, O Muslims, there is a wisdom in severing all alliance with the US far above human wisdom. It is the Revelation of Allah (swt), Al-Hakeem (the All-Wise). Allah (swt) warned,

[مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنكَبُوتِ اتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنكَبُوتِ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ]

“The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the spider who takes a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew.” [Surah Al-Ankabut 29:41]. The prohibition of alliance with the disbelievers is a fundamental pillar of the Shariah conception of international relations.

So, seize back your decision-making authority from the agents of the US, and establish the legislative sovereignty of Allah (swt) in your lands.

The first practical step is for you to demand that your armies grant their nussrah to Hizb ut Tahrir for the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood.
