The GCC deepens its servitude to America

The Foreign Ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, held their second Ministerial Meeting within the framework of ‘The Strategic Cooperation Forum between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the United States. The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 67th United Nations General Assembly session here in New York, reviewed the workflow of the ‘US-GCC Strategic Cooperation Forum' and ways to strengthen its role through enhancing and boosting the strategic cooperation relations between the two sides and the latest developments in the region and issues of common concern. The Ministers condemned in a statement issued at the conclusion of the forum the abusive video of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) and stressed their rejection of all attempts aiming at defamation of religions. The statement also stressed the rejection of all forms of terrorism and extremism and condemnation of the attacks on the embassies of the United States of America and others in the recent weeks and the resulting loss of life and property. The statement included the following points regarding the strategic cooperation between the two sides:Commitment of both sides in the light of the challenges facing the region to promote political, military, security and economic cooperation between them in order to maintain peace, security, stability and prosperity in the Gulf region and the Middle East and to face the threats against the territory of the GCC countries and maritime security in the Gulf region.

The two sides expressed their deep concern over the continuing Iranian intervention in the internal affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council and called on Iran to respect international principles in this area. Welcome of the formation of a joint security committee between the GCC and the United States, in the framework of the Strategic Cooperation Forum, to cooperate in the fight against terrorism, border security and territorial waters. Welcome of the signing on September 25, 2012 in New York of the Framework Agreement for economic, trade, investment and technical cooperation between the two sides in these areas as support for the work of the Forum. Deepening cooperation between the GCC and the United States in the field of missile defence, as a key element in their efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region. Valuation of close cooperation between the two sides in the field of maritime security and encouragement to take additional steps to deepen and coordinate these efforts and welcome of the steps taken by the GCC countries with regard to the establishment of the navigational operations centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the desire of the United States to participate in its works, in order to work on harmonization among the naval forces, match procedures for maritime communications, increase joint maritime operations between the two sides and strengthen cooperation in the fight against piracy and the safety of maritime navigation.

Iran, Iraq call for expansion of defence ties:

During a meeting in Baghdad on Wednesday, Iranian Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki called for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in various areas, particularly in the area of defence. Heading a high-ranking military delegation, Brigadier General Vahidi arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday at the invitation of his Iraqi counterpart Saadoun al-Dulaimi. It is the first time that an Iranian defence minister has visited Iraq since the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979. During the meeting, Maliki said that enhanced defence ties between Iran and Iraq will help promote peace in the region. Vahidi stated that defence and security cooperation between the two countries is exemplary in the region. Upon his arrival in Baghdad, Vahidi told reporters that Iran's principled policy is to expand cooperation with regional countries, particularly Iraq."The country of Iraq has a special status in Iran's foreign policy and defence diplomacy," he added. He also stated that the "new Iraq" that has a democratically elected government has provided an "opportunity" for the Iranian and Iraqi nations to take great steps toward further cooperation based on the principle of "good neighbourliness" and friendly relations.

2000 US soldiers killed in Afghanistan:

The number of American troops killed during the 11-year-war in Afghanistan hit the 2,000 mark over the weekend. And then the number grew some more on Monday, this time with a strike close to home. A suicide bomber identified as a member of the Taliban drove a motorcycle jammed with explosives into a joint U.S.-Afghan patrol, killing 14 people in all. The list includes three members of the 514th Military Police Company, a North Carolina National Guard unit based in Winterville. According to U.S. officials, the latest attack is another burst from inside the unstable bubble of alleged Afghanistan allies. The Associated Press reports that this year more than 50 U.S. forces have been killed in insider attacks by Afghan troops or infiltrating insurgents. The ongoing massacre from within raises serious questions about whether the drawdown of American and international forces while training 350,000 Afghan police and soldiers to ultimately take over security can actually succeed. More than 30,000 U.S. troops have exited Afghanistan under this $22 billion, three-year strategy so far but nearly 70,000 remain. NATO now has 108,000 troops in the country, which includes U.S. forces. NATO had 150,000 troops in Afghanistan last year. How many more will come home, though, will be decided after the presidential election in November. The timeframe for all combat troops to be out of Afghanistan is the end of 2014.

Relationship with Pakistan problematic, says NATO chief:

NATO has said relationship with Pakistan is a bit problematic reason being unresolved issues regarding stepping up fight against terrorists in the border region of the country. "The border region is really a big challenge. Whenever we engage with the Pakistani government and military, we encourage them to step up fight against terrorists and extremists in the region. It remains an unsolved problem," NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in an interview with Charlie Rose show of PBS News. He, however, pressed for a strong partnership with Pakistan to find a solution to these issues. Undeterred by the recent spurt in insider attacks in Afghanistan, he said, "Taliban will miscalculate the situation if they think their situation will be better by the end of 2014, because they will be faced with a very strong and capable Afghan security force." "They will not be in a stronger position. When we (will) stop our combat mission, a very capable Afghan security force will take over. We are building up the number of Afghan security forces and by 2014, we will have 352,000 Afghan forces. And more importantly, quality-wise they will be very capable," the NATO secretary general said.

Western Society is Not A Role Model for Muslim Countries

  • Published in Politics
  •   |

1.   Why should Muslim countries not admire or emulate Western society?

Western capitalist, secular, liberal societies are drowning under a sea of social and moral problems - all caused by the values and laws of their system. Within Western capitalist states, crime is at epidemic proportions. In the US, one third of Americans have been arrested by the age of 23. In the UK, the government is grappling with huge levels of gun and knife-crime. Last year, hundreds of youth engaged in a rampage of mindless violence across various cities of England - looting, destroying property, and setting fire to homes and businesses. Western states are also suffering with unacceptable levels of alcoholism and drug abuse. In the UK, 1 adult in every 13 is dependent on alcohol. In the US according to data from the National Institute of Health, 1 in 7 of the population are considered "problem drinkers". In addition to this, Western nations are afflicted with a widespread culture of disrespect, anti-social behaviour, and lack of responsibility towards others, especially affecting the youth who display a behaviour of rudeness to parents, teachers, and society in general. Neglect and abuse of the elderly and children has become commonplace. One in four young adults in the population were severely maltreated in childhood. A third of the UK's elderly population live alone, including half of all women over 65. Of the million elderly men who live alone, half have no contact with friends or family.

These are also states where the abuse and sexual exploitation of women is rampant. In the US, a woman is raped every 2 minutes, beaten every 15 seconds, and 3 women are murdered by their partners every day. In the UK a woman is subjected to rape or attempted rape every 10 minutes, while across Europe 1 in 4 women are victims of domestic violence. Alongside all this is the meltdown of the family unit within Western secular societies due to a culture where promiscuity is celebrated resulting in millions of single-mothers, many bearing children from different fathers. In the UK 40% of children are born out of wedlock, nearly 1 in 2 marriages end in divorce, and 9 out of 10 children between the ages of 13 and 17 have been in a sexual relationship. It is clear that the capitalist, secular, liberal system and its values have sown social and moral devastation within their societies and is no model for the Muslim world to emulate.

2. Do Western countries have a healthy society? If they do not then what are the causes for their social problems?

It is clear that the Western nations do not have a healthy society - socially or morally - and this can be directly attributed to the capitalist liberal system that it implements. Capitalism, that sets securing maximum pleasure as the goal of life, individual desires the measure of right and wrong, and the pursuit of personal benefit and economic interests as the criterion for actions has nurtured a dangerous mindset of "do whatever, to whoever, for whatever." It has created a materialistic, consumerism-dominated environment where value and worth is given to wealth and possessions over all else. All this has fuelled crime to unacceptable levels within society. It has generated rampant individualism where the primary concern of individuals is securing self-interest at any cost, rather than nurturing a mentality of responsibility towards others. The consequence has been the neglect of children, the elderly, the rights of neighbours, and those most vulnerable within society. Capitalism, that values securing the dollar over the dignity of women, has also given permit to the exploitation of the bodies of women in advertising, entertainment and the beauty and sex industries, devaluing and cheapening the status of women within society. This has contributed to the high level of abuse against women.

Liberal values that promote and sanctify the pursuit of ones whims and desires are also to blame for the social and moral chaos afflicting Western societies. Personal freedom has generated a self-gratifying culture resulting in the epidemic of alcohol and drug abuse. Sexual freedom that celebrates the right of individuals to have an intimate relationship with whoever they like has caused the spiralling rates of extramarital relationships, the breakdown of family life, and the discarding of the rights of the child to be brought up in a loving environment with a mother and father. Freedom of expression has given license for individuals to insult, defame, and mock the religious beliefs of Muslims and others as we saw with the disgusting Danish cartoons of the Messenger(saw), and the recent repulsive US film, "Innocence of Muslims" that slandered our beloved Prophet(saw). Under freedom of expression, racist right-wing groups are permitted to exist and even enter government. All this has not only created a culture of disrespect towards others but also tension and violence between communities, rising levels of racism and increasing Islamophobia. The consequence has been countless verbal and physical attacks on Muslims in the West.

It is clear that the capitalist, liberal system has failed to create societies that are safe, harmonious, respectful and morally elevated.

3.   Are the problems that Western society suffers from just an aberration from the norm or a psychological anomaly?

Some have attributed psychological illness as the causal factors behind particular problems afflicting Western societies such as child sex abuse, or mass murders such as the recent shootings at the Sikh temple in the US state of Wisconsin. Although it cannot be denied that some perpetrators of these heinous crimes were mentally ill, the scale of such problems within these societies points to the fact that they are not caused solely by psychological factors but rather fuelled by the values of these states. The gun rampage at the Sikh temple was executed by a man who was reported to have had white supremacist links and beliefs. Anders Breivik, the man who murdered 77 people in Norway in 2011 was motivated by anti-Islamic sentiments. Such beliefs and sentiments are permitted to be entertained and promoted within Western liberal states under the premise of freedom of expression.

Even with regards to depression and suicide, the level of these problems within secular states points to the fact that they are not simply the result of psychological illness but rather exacerbated by the values of the society. A 2011 survey by the UK women's charity Platform 51 found that almost 1/3 of women aged over 18 have taken anti-depressants. There are over a million reported attempted suicides every year in the US, while in England someone takes their life every 2 hours. The crippling nature of the problems caused by capitalism and the meaningless materialistic-dominated lifestyle has led to such shocking statistics. In addition, the spiritual emptiness resulting from the secular creed that fails to give clear answers to the purpose of life or clear direction in how to live ones life or solve ones problems results in a life that is devoid of tranquillity, laying the path to anxiety, depression or even suicide. Therefore, a significant proportion of the blame for the problems of Western society needs to be placed at the door of its beliefs, values and system.

4. Can the West Solve these Social Problems?

Western states that continue to implement the capitalist liberal system will never be able to solve these issues for they fail to recognise or acknowledge that this social and moral quagmire is the direct fall-out of their ideology. The consequence is they introduce various laws or policies in an attempt to curb various crimes or social problems such as increasing prison sentences, having more CCTV on streets to catch criminals, or even teaching sex education to 5 year olds in a desperate attempt to reduce pregnancies amongst young girls that has resulted from the promiscuous liberal lifestyle. However, these are nothing but patchwork solutions that have failed to address the route causes of these problems - which is the capitalist, liberal values. Consequently, such governmental actions have failed to even cause a dent in the level of the social crises afflicting their societies.

5. What is the contribution of the Muslim community in the West to address these problems?

Many Muslims in the West are engaging in discussions with the wider society at grass-route, in universities, institutions, and on the media to try and raise awareness of the failings of the capitalist secular way of life as well as present the Islamic ideology as an alternative model by which to successfully solve the political, economic, legal, social, and moral problems of mankind. In addition, Muslims are also striving to remove non-Islamic secular ideas and behaviour from their own Muslim community and instill the Islamic values inorder to treat these problems that unfortunately also exist amongst Muslims in the West. There are also Muslims who work as youth workers, social counsellors, or doctors in projects and initiatives that seek to reform individuals engaged in crime or who are affected by alcohol or drug abuse. However, although such initiatives may help some to overcome their problems, they are working against the tide of the social-fallout of the system and therefore clearly do not provide a real solution to this social meltdown.

6. How does Islam prevent and resolve these issues?

Islam defines the purpose of life, not as securing maximum pleasure but to worship Allah(swt) and to secure His(swt)'s Pleasure. Allah(swt) says, "I have not created man and jinn except as a worship unto me" [TMQ 51:56]. Actions are not decided based upon attaining individual benefit or economic profit but upon the Command of Allah(swt). All this destroys the materialistic-led mentality and nurtures a mindset of accountability in every deed to a higher authority. The result is a personality that shuns individualism; abhors racism and nationalism; takes care of the needs of their family, elders and neighbours; aids and protects the vulnerable; is respectful towards others; avoids criminal or immoral activity; and lives life with a sense of responsibility towards the rights of others and the society in which they live - all commanded by Islam.

Islam rejects liberal freedoms, recognizing the social chaos that results from people living life according to their desires, as Allah(swt) describes in Surah Al-Mu'minun,"If the truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay we have sent them their admonition but they turn away from their admonition." [TMQ Al-Mu'minun: 71].  It rather promotes obedience to the Creator and his laws that includes rejection of the self-gratifying lifestyle of drugs, alcohol, and extra-marital relationships. It praises modesty and chastity, and contains a whole social system that regulates the relationship between men and women to secure these values within society, leading  to the protection of marriage, the family unit, and the rights of children. It also rejects the corrosive capitalist principle of placing money over morals, and hence prohibits the exploitation and devaluing of women, defining their honour as sacred and its protection an obligation, with severe punishments for those who harm them or violate their dignity.

And finally, in contrast to the flawed secular belief, Islam provides clear answers to the purpose of life and rejects the irrational secular philosophy that the human being (who is weak and limited in knowledge) rather than the Creator (the One who has all knowledge of all things) should decide how to live his or her life or solve their problems. Allah(swt) says, "We made for you a law, so follow it, and follow not the fancies of those who have no knowledge." [TMQ 45:18]. Consequently, the believer lives life with tranquility in their heart in the knowledge that they are performing the correct actions in life and solving their problems in a sound manner.

When these beliefs, values and laws are implemented on a societal level as is the case within the Khilafah "Caliphate" state, the citizens enjoy the true benefits of living under a system where crime, immorality, injustice, poverty, family breakdown, abuse, and tension between those of different beliefs is minimized, preventing the widespread depression, anxiety and misery that affects capitalist societies due to flawed man-made values and laws. It is therefore Islam which is the true cure to the ills and bad social health of Western states; and the Khilafah "Caliphate" the true model that the Muslim world should embrace to create a progressive, harmonious, safe, and civilized society.

Question and Answer: China and Japan Row over Disputed Islands

  • Published in Q&A
  •   |

Question:

U.S. Defense Secretary during his visit to Japan on 16-17/9/2012 said that "this dispute between China and Japan on the subject of the islands can intensify" (A.P. News Agency 17/9/2012) and then added "I am worried because when these countries start provoking one another on these disputed islands, it would enhance the possibility of making the wrong decision from one side or the other, which on its part could lead to violence and result in conflict" (the above source). The current development came to the fore in the wake of the announcement made by Japan on 11/9/2012 that she bought the three islands from a Japanese family in an archipelago of the East China Sea, thus she claims their ownership and calls them Senkaku. This scenario triggered tension between them and China who claims that these islands belong to them and she calls them Diaoyu. China sent two warships towards these islands...

So the question is: why did Japan take this step at this juncture? Does America have a role in this conflict? Is it possible that the situation will drive them to the outbreak of war or is it a storm which will calm down?

Answer:

The answer to the question gets clarified by reviewing the following matters:

1. China claims that these three islands are from among the five main islands owned by her and were captured by Japan in the war that took place between them during 1894 and 1895. The Americans took control of them in World War II after they defeated the Japanese. They (Americans) annexed the administration of these islands to the Japanese island of Oukinao which they also occupied in the same war and established therein a large U.S. base. The America, however, handed over these islands to the Japanese in 1972 by handing over them to a Japanese family and then these islands were bought by another Japanese family who were controlling them since the nineties of the nineteenth century. The area of all these islands in the archipelago is about 6.2 km, including the rocks surrounded by the sea water. These islands are uninhabited but they are of strategic importance in the East China Sea. They are close to the routes of maritime navigation and their waters are replete with fish wealth. Also there are reports about the possibility that they may have large reserves of oil and gas.

The issue of these islands has been raised between the two countries several times, the last of which was in the year 2010 when a similar tension arose.

2. The United States officially informed Japan on 29/06/2012 that they want to deploy "12" Osprey aircrafts in the U.S. Futenma base in the Japanese island of Oukinao and that the deployment of these aircrafts will be at the end of the ongoing month (ASHA - Musrs - scene - masress almashhad 1.7.2012) and U.S. forces announced that one of these aircrafts will begin its trip on 21/9/2012 (Arabic News CN World 20.9.2012). All this came in an atmosphere witnessing Japanese protests against the American presence, which was started to be looked at unpleasantly, with some of them even demanding the departure of the Americans from their country as there are still 47 thousand U.S. troops by virtue of a bilateral security treaty signed in 1960 with the Government of Japan under the U.S. occupation. This is an American method which she has resorted to in order to change the form of her occupation and keep her influence in the country occupied by her as she did in Iraq when she held the U.S. security treaty with the Maliki government in 2008 under American official occupation as well as the American strategic security agreement with the Government of Afghanistan, which was signed a few month ago under the patronage of ongoing American occupation.

In such atmosphere of Japanese dissatisfaction with the largely American presence in their country, America announces the deployment of aircrafts! Of course, such announcement will intensify the opposition by the Japanese... So America deemed it appropriate that creating an atmosphere of provocation with China and manifestation, that the war with China is approaching, will make the Japanese accept the deployment of these aircrafts and will mitigate their protests against the American presence, on the pretext that the U.S. will support Japan in the face of China! That's why and in agreement with the Japanese government closely related to U.S. policy was raised the issue of the islands that they belong to Japan while they are disputed between the two. This scenario provoked China and created an atmosphere of misleading clash with her and that the war may erupt. And this is what pacified the Japanese opposition to the American presence in their country considering that they would lend a helping hand to them in the face of China.

3. Therefore, raising the issue of the islands this time, after the announcement to deploy the aircrafts, is a deliberate step by the Government of Japan based on the U.S. plan to provoke the Chinese until the tension between Japan and China becomes apparent so that the Japanese are terrified by China and surrender to the American plans to be implemented in their region. Therefore the statements by U.S. officials indicate the forthcoming confrontation or that they are prelude to confrontation! U.S. Defense Secretary during his visit to Japan said on 16-17/9/2012 "this dispute between the two can intensify" (A.P. News Agency 17/9/2012) and then added "I am worried because when these countries start provoking one another on these disputed islands, it would enhance the possibility of making the wrong decision from one side or the other, which on its part could lead to violence and result in conflict" (the above source). He called on "the two sides to equanimity and self-control". U.S. Defense Secretary describes the issue as if a war is about to occur between the two countries for the sake of the American goals. He reminded Japan of the security pacts between his country and Japan to show that America is ready to stand by Japan and said "we honor our commitments related to the treaties existing for a long time and will not change" (the above source). All these escalations are happening at a time when the US Defense Secretary is focusing in his talks with the Japanese government on the US Plans to deploy 12 Osprey aircrafts in the U.S. base in the Japanese island of Oukinao amid strong opposition from the residents of the South Island as reported French News Agency on 16/9/2012.

4. The Chinese reaction was emotional and the mass demonstration were allowed to roam through the streets of her cities to protest against the Japanese step towards these islands that are officially not controlled by the Japanese state. But when it announced the purchase of three of them from the Japanese family to be owned by the Japanese state, the sovereignty of these islands officially came under the Japanese state and it was considered as if these islands were again annexed by Japan. This Japanese action provoked China who moved some of her ships that guard her territorial waters in the East China Sea toward these islands. The Prime Minister of China Wen Jiabao being impressed and touched by the Chinese emotions said: "the era of humiliating the Chinese has gone irrevocably" (A.P. News Agency 17/9/2012). The Chinese still remember the humiliation that they suffered from at the hands of the Japanese, whether it is in the war that broke out between them in the nineties of the nineteenth century or it is the direct Japanese occupation of China in the thirties of the twentieth century which lasted until Japan's defeat in World War II by America. So they went out of Chinese control and then were left for Americans. The complication of defeat and humiliation that afflicted the Chinese at the hands of the Japanese is still a factor of provocation among them. So the Chinese getting agitated by such an issue is very easy.

5- Thus, America hit two birds with one stone by pushing Japan to claim the islands... on the one hand the atmosphere became strained between China and Japan so that Japan feel compelled to have the American presence, which can be easily acceptable to the Japanese. On the other hand, America wants to keep China always busy with tense regional issues, thus preventing China from any aspirations towards any global state policy except within the limits of its territory. America continues in her plans aimed at restraining China and putting an end to China's plans to strengthen its regional position in order to reach the global status, particularly towards America. Thus, the U.S. plan in the regional areas of China is to achieve this goal. America has already announced her plans to strengthen her presence in Asia/ Pacific Ocean as part of a new strategy when her defense secretary Leon Panetta announced on 01/06/2012 this strategy of his country in Asia/ Pacific Ocean regarding sending six aircrafts carriers and deploying 60% of its warships in this region over the coming years until 2020. Thus America is working towards igniting all the conflicts in the face of China: in the region of the East China Sea as happened with Japan and in the South China Sea as there is tension between China and the Philippines over the islands and the fishing, and also there is dispute between China and Vietnam over the islands where the Chinese stood up and expelled the Vietnamese in 1988. All this is aroused to keep China busy in these two regions!

America also stands behind these countries in the two regions with the exception of North Korea, and incites them against China so that the latter, as we said above, is made busy in her own region and cannot be in a position to go beyond this territory, especially in view of the fact that America has full control over many of these countries such as South Korea in the East China Sea, the Philippines in the South China Sea, where there are U.S. bases as well as Indonesia subordinate to U.S. policy and then Japan which is also in the American orbit.

6. This is the reality about America's role in this matter and triggering the issue of the islands at this time. As for the question that this provocation will reach to the outbreak of war between China and Japan over the islands, it is unlikely at least in the foreseeable future because there are islands larger and more important than these such as the island of Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa and for which China did not ignite a war considering that America is agreed with her that she would work to peacefully bring them back to China. Then there is a conflict with the Philippines, Vietnam and others on islands located in the South China Sea, without getting into war with them. Otherwise, she will open upon herself a door which she cannot close! China will never sacrifice its large interests with Japan because of these islands, for the reason that the volume of trade between them is about $ 300 billion a year and the Japanese companies operating in China employ more than 20 million Chinese workers. In addition, China is working to take advantage of Japanese technology and expertise and therefore it is not in China's interest to ignite a war with Japan for these islands. The Chinese Defense Minister Liang Gwaungla said in his meeting with U.S. Defense Secretary on 18/9/2012 while answering to a question by the journalists as to whether Beijing intends to resort to force, he said that "we still hope to have a peaceful and negotiated solution", (A.P. News Agency 18/9/2012) which indicates that it is unlikely on the part of China to ignite a war with Japan for these islands.

7. If China remains preoccupied with her territorial issues, America could succeed in expelling China from international politics. However it is true that China is effectively threatening the U.S. policy worldwide and creates problems to her, which threaten the latter's interests i.e. China applies the policy of effective threat to the U.S. policy in every region of the world and therefore it is easy for China to have effective influence in her regional domain, especially in the two regions of East and South China Sea.

However, the noticeable prospects in the Chinese policy are that it is still misled by the notion that her effective interference in the international politics is not in her best interest and so she only takes care of her regional areas... and is not aware of the fact that she will never be able to control her regions if she does not have global political aspirations of creating problems for America in order to compel the latter to lessen the harassment of China in its territory. Unless China pursues this policy, she will remain at a standstill and America will continue to create regional tension for her one after the other.

After all, perhaps the history is repeating itself wholly or partially! The Khilaafah, Allah willing, will be established and its international political actions "prior to its military actions "in expelling the West and America from the Islamic region, will be an example to be copied and followed by China in expelling the American influence from around China. Thus the political actions by the Khilaafah will indirectly realize the security to China as the Khilaafah directly achieved security to China in the past. The Chinese and Islamic sources mention that the Chinese state requested the Islamic Khilaafah state at the time of Abbasid Khalifaah Abu Jafar Al-Mansur to assist her in quelling the unrest and chaos occurred in China in 756 CE and engulfed the country. The Khalifah sent a force consisting of 4 thousand Muslim soldiers and thus the matter got stabilized in China and they brought the security for the people of the country. The Chinese became highly impressed by the characters, good behaviors and demeanors of the Muslim soldiers and requested them to stay with them and hence those Muslims soldiers stayed there in their capacity as the Daw'ah carriers, spreading the Deen of Islam, its guidance and light among the people of China. Among their grandsons today are the Muslims of East Turkestan who are currently being oppressed by China instead of reciprocating the favor to them!! Will China get aware of this matter and end its occupation of Turkestan without denying the favor done to her by the Khilaafah in the past?!
