  • Published in Dawah News
  •   |

"Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah, of them some have fulfilled their obligations (i.e. have been martyred), and some of them are still waiting, but they have never changed" [al-Ahzaab:23]

We mourn with the Muslim Ummah the death of Sheikh Fathi Muhammad Saleem Abu Ghazi on the 12th of October 2008 corresponding to the 13th of Shawwal 1429 Hijri. Sheikh Abu Ghazi was one of the highly respected thinkers, scholars and politicians of the Ummah. He wrote widely on Islamic thought and political analysis and his interviews and articles were frequently published by the Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir.

May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'aala) have Mercy on him and raise him up with the Prophets, Siddiqqeen (truthful), Shuhadaah (martyrs) and Saliheen (righteous) and how excellent is their company!

Indeed, the eyes weep and the hearts grieve and we are bereaved by the departure of Sheikh Abu Ghazi! But we shall not say anything except that which pleases our Lord:

"Those who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return." [al-Baqarah:156]

  • Published in Yemen
  •   |

In a press release (Arabic) issued by the Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Yemen, the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Yemen in the blessed month of Ramadhan were outlined.

The press release mentioned that Hizb ut-Tahrir had organised many meetings, seminars, talks and lectures throughout the month of Ramadhan in the various provinces and cities of Yemen including Sanaa, Hadramaut, Amran and Ta'izz. Activists from Hizb ut-Tahrir draped the cities in posters, organised cars with loudspeakers and hosted hundreds of participants at talks and lectures. The events were attended by leading religious and tribal leaders. Leading members of the party delivered lessons after Salat al-Jumua in large mosques which were attended by thousands of people in which they were reminded of the great obligation to re-establish the Islamic Caliphate.

Following all of these events, on the 19th of Ramadhan 1429 Hijri, the President of Yemen, was forced to address the issue of the Caliphate in a speech in the city of Al-Hudaydah and later at a speech at the American Embassy. In the speech, after speaking about so-called 'terrorism', the President criticised those who call for the Caliphate and said that the advocates of the Caliphate would not deal with the West or foreign banks, would close ports and airports and would prevent the importation of goods from foreign nations.

The press release ended by praying that Allah (swt) makes Yemen the focal point of the soon to return Islamic Caliphate so that the banner of Al-Okab will flutter in the mountains, valleys and plains of Yemen.

British MP warns that some Muslim children at primary school are dangerous fanatics

On 8/10/2008 Britain's Schools Secretary suggested some primary school pupils were already displaying "early warning signs" of extremist attitudes. He called on teachers to challenge pupils sympathizing with terrorists. Guidance published by the Department for Children, Schools and Families outlined a series of recent examples of schoolchildren being confronted by extremist groups. Speaking as it was launched at a school in north London, Mr Balls said: "Violent extremism influenced by Al-Qaeda currently poses the greatest security threat but other forms of extremism and hate- or race-based prejudice are also affecting our communities and causing alienation and disaffection amongst young people...Our goal must be to empower our young people to come together to expose violent extremists and reject cruelty and violence in whatever form it takes." British Officials also narrated how one primary age pupil started talking in a playground about "the duty of all true Muslims to prepare for jihad war as we grow up", as well as referring to the "7/7 martyrs" with admiration. After having lost the intellectual battle with Muslim adults and teenagers the British government is now turning its attention to brainwashing Muslim children below the age of 11. Soon this will prove to be futile and they will be forced to discuss with Muslim babies.

Canadian Masjid to recruit Muslims to fight in the army

On Wednesday, October 8, The Vancouver Sun reported that a Canadian masjid was hosting a military recruitment session that aims at drawing more Muslims into army ranks to join the fight in places like Afghanistan. Speaking to the newspaper, Imaad Ali, youth director at Al-Salaam Mosque said,"Our community takes great pride in our country". The newspaper further stated that several members of the Armed Forces would be at the mosque to discuss career opportunities and answer questions from the community. They would try to highlight the army's Muslim-friendly accommodations, including halal meals and Muslim chaplains. Among those answering questions would be a senior Muslim naval officer who wears a specially-designed hijab. She would explain the rules regarding the uniforms of Muslim women in the military. It is a great shame that Muslims are using the Masjid to promote munkar and divide Muslims. Allah says:

"And those (hypocrites) who built a mosque to cause harm, and due to disbelief, and in order to cause divisions among the Muslims, and to await the one who is at the outset an opponent of Allah and His Noble Messenger; and they will surely swear that "We wished only good"; and Allah is witness that they are indeed liars." [TMQ At-Tawba: 107]

Muslim's massacred in India's Assam region

On 9/10/2008 the economist magazine reported that Muslims in India's Assam region were massacred by Hindus. From October 3rd to 7th, members of Assam's largest tribe, the Boro fought bitterly with local Muslims, before troops and paramilitaries sent by the central government quelled the violence. By then, 53 people had died, 25 of them shot by the police, and 150,000 people had sought shelter in camps. The economist speculated that the motive behind the attacks was to subdue Indian Muslims who were willing to fight back. The episode is further proof that Indian's coveted secularism has failed to provide peace and security to Indians 200 million plus Muslims. Indian Muslims must take it upon themselves to re-establish the Khilafah "Caliphate", so that can provide peace and security for Muslims as well as Hindus, Christians and Bhuddists.

Pakistani government wants Muslims to adopt America's war against Islam

Lately, the Pakistani government has embarked on a relentless campaign to convince the Pakistani nation that they should support America's war against Islam. The campaign uses posters, songs, current affair programmes as means of conveying this message. The message of supporting America's war against Islam is disguised as war against the terrorist and militants. But the message is falling on deaf ears and rulers are repeatedly wondering why? This is because every sane Pakistani knows that before America's occupation of Afghanistan, the tribal areas, Swat and the cities of Pakistan never witnessed such violence. Why the rulers cannot fathom this fact belittles their credentials to rule, and renders them unfit to lead.

Hizb ut-Tahrir Turkey issues Eid ul-Fitr Message

  • Published in Turkey
  •   |

On the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Turkey sent its congratulations to the Islamic Ummah. In the message, the Ummah was reminded of the destruction of the Caliphate in 1342 Hijri and the plight of the Ummah since its destruction. The message noted that even though the Muslims are over 1 billion in number they have little power or influence in the world.

The message recalled that the Muslim Ummah are "the best Ummah brought forth from mankind" when they live by the Shariah and follow the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saw). The hadith of the Messenger (saw) was recalled:

"The People will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their food." Someone asked, "Will that be because of our small numbers at that time?" He replied, "No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be froth and scum like that carried down by a torrent (of water), and Allah will take the fear of you from the breasts (hearts) of your enemy and cast al-wahn  into your hearts." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is al-wahn?" He replied, "Love of the world and dislike of death." -

Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Turkey explains in the message how the rulers of the Muslim world have assisted the brutal attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan, the occupation of the Islamic lands and the plundering of the wealth of the Ummah. It reminds the Muslims that the establishment of the Caliphate is one of the greatest obligations imposed by Allah (swt). It will raise the banner of Jihad, protect the lives, honour and property and return the dignity to the Ummah. Since the Ummah lost the Khilafah "Caliphate", the month of Ramadhan was filled with blood and tears, hunger, humiliation and occupation. In the presence of the Khilafah "Caliphate", Ramadhan was the month of victory and conquest.

The message concluded by wishing all the Muslims a blessed Eid ul-Fitr Mubarak and praying that the next Eid ul-Adha will be celebrated under the shade of the Islamic Caliphate.

10 Hizb ut-Tahrir men freed

The 10 Hizb ut-Tahrir leaders and activists arrested on September 18 were released from Rajshahi Central Jail Tuesday night.

They were arrested in Rajshahi on suspicion of their involvement in militancy and inciting anti-state activities.

The release came after police submitted before a court a discharge report. Based on the report, the Rajshahi District and Sessions Judge's Court earlier that day granted them bail. Hizb ut-Tahrir had threatened of waging a movement to oust the government.

In the discharge report, police said nothing was found to sue the Tahrir men. Police only two weeks ago told the media that they would launch an investigation and would seek green signal from the government high-ups to bringing sedition charges against them.

A number of Hizb ut-Tahrir activists, many of whom went to Rajshahi from the capital, greeted the freed people at the jail gate around 8:00pm.

"They were freed as we received the court order to release them," said Harun-ur Rashid, Senior Jail Superintendent of Rajshahi. "Necessary papers (for their release) reached in time at the jail but procedures took some time," he said about the delayed release of the arrestees.

On Tuesday, police submitted the discharge report with a court ending the investigation, said Ramjan Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalia Police Station. "No ground or evidence was found for filing any regular case against them," he said quoting the report.

"There was no influence as we investigated the matter and found no reason to go further," said the OC replying to a question.

Hizb ut-Tahrir Coordinator and Dhaka University teacher Syed Golam Mowla and Ahmed Jamal Iqbal, teacher of South East University and a senior member of the Islamist group, were arrested along with eight others on September 18 before a scheduled press conference in Rajshahi.

Invoking Section-54 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), police showed them arrested on suspicion of using religious sentiment to foment anti-state activities and having involvement in militancy. Police had seized many leaflets and booklets carrying anti-state statements.

A court later sent them to jail rejecting their bail petitions. The accused appealed to the District and Sessions Judge's Court after the lower court rejected their bail petitions. They were finally granted bail on September 30.

Protesting the arrests on September 19, Hizb ut-Tahrir Chief Coordinator Mohiuddin Ahmed in Dhaka threatened a movement to oust the government. He said, "The Hizb ut-Tahrir will stomp the city streets and no one will be able to live in peace on the soil of Bangladesh if our leaders are not freed within 48 hours."

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Commissioner Mahbub Mohsin earlier told The Daily Star that the arrest of Hizb ut-Tahrir leaders was not surprising. "We had been looking for the organisation's leaders and activists in connection with distributing leaflets at Baro Masjid," he said.

The Hizb ut-Tahrir men distributed leaflets in front of the Baro Masjid in Rajshahi on September 9.

"The language of the leaflet and activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir were objectionable and are clearly anti-state as the contents of their leaflets distributed are provocative and call for militancy and toppling the government," the OC had said earlier.

The leaflet reads, "Our rulers have discarded the Quran and Sunnah... They have handed us over to our enemies. In this holy month of Ramadan we have to take oath to dethrone our rulers and establish the rule of Khilafat."

Hizb ut-Tahrir also criticises sending forces in the United Nations peace keeping missions for protecting "enemies" instead of "turning them into the flag bearers of Islam".
