A tense situation is prevailing at Baharampur village under the border upazila of Haripur in Thakurgaon when Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel opened fire on the agitating villagers on Tuesday (12/02/19) that killed at least three villagers, including a 12-year-old boy, and injured at least 16 others including women.

(25th January, 2019) in an address to the nation, Sheikh Hasina called for so-called “national unity” to take the nation forward. And she expressed her thanks to all parties, alliances and candidates who participated in the election to legitimize her tyranny. Afterwards, she invited all opposition parties, especially BNP-Jatiya Okyafront, to exchange greetings and have a tea-party on 2nd February, 2019 in Gonovaban.

 Several Bangladeshi newspapers reported on January 18, 2019 that Indian Border Security Force (BSF) was trying to force 31 Rohingya Muslims into Bangladesh from the Kasba Upazila border area in Brahmanbaria. These stateless and forgotten part of the Muslim Ummah were stranded under the open sky in the Indian side of the “no man's land”.

Another ‘National Election’, a festival of deception in the so-called democratic system, was held in Bangladesh by creating a curfew-like situation in an atmosphere of intimidation and fear, by keeping the people hostage, shutting down internet and public transports, etc.
