Hizb ut-Tahrir organized protests in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar against the government action of persecuting pro-Khilafah "Caliphate" military officers and civilians. Protestors were holding banners and placards which read " Pro-American traitors in Civilian and Military leadership are pursuing a policy of purging Pro-Khilafah "Caliphate" Civilians and Military Officers" and "Expel America from Pakistan, which is the real reason of chaos and turmoil."

On 14 March the Deputy Attorney General read out a letter from ISI in front of the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Mr. Iqbal Hameed ur Rehman, and denied its involvement in the abduction of members of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
