News Right Now: What Now?

August 15th gave face to the ultimate US humiliation marking the official failure to their decade’s long war in Afghanistan. They boasted to rebuild the nation and bring the freedoms and justice of their secular ways. Today we witness they awkwardly slid their way out after years on end seeking an exit route in the most non-embarrassing way. The very Taliban who they ousted out on their entrance into Afghanistan’s war on terror in 2001, they put their hands up and openly proved they couldn’t be defeated by them after 20 years of trying.

The Taliban swept through the country taking most the provincial capitals under their control with close to no resistance and no bloodshed. After the withdrawal of US troops it was anticipated by US intelligence that the Taliban would take the country’s capital Kabul in 3 to 9 months which would be the governments and military’s collapse. However, it was done a lot quicker and smoother as predicted. A lot of the states were literally handed over and surrendered to the Taliban by the governors without question.

The U.S. and its NATO allies spent billions, if not trillions of dollars over two decades to train and equip Afghan security forces. They sent endless troops, sent their lands sons and daughters to this land in the hope of occupying and subjugating the Muslim population. But all this has shown how weak and beatable the so called US superpower is, no matter how much they scream and shout about their invincibility.

So what now for Afghanistan? The Taliban with their unwavering zeal and steadfastness were able to win against the US and their allies. What now lies ahead will be another level. They are now the leaders of Afghanistan, they must rule and protect an entire nation. The Islamic Emirate, as the Taliban calls itself, claims it "will, as always, protect their life, property and honour, and create a peaceful and secure environment for its beloved nation.” They have assured they will rule by the Shariah and protect the rights of women.

Any future leader in Afghanistan must have this approach for sure. The Taliban must now not remain complicit or allow for any foreign interference or meddling. They MUST cut off all ties and links with US, Britain, Europe, Russia, China and all those who claims to have their interest and willing to help them. The Messenger of Allah SAW mentioned in the hadith “A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.” (Related by Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Ahmad, Abu Dawood and Ibn Majah). For far too long we have allowed the enemies to dictate. Enough! They were always the root of the problem and will always be, as long as we allow!

What is required now is for the implementation of the Islamic Khilafah system, which is the only system that would ensure all the promises it’s made as well as keep out all foreign interference. Afghanistan’s leaders should be the honourable ones to start the entire Ummah’s unification, bi’itnillah. It needs a leadership that will implement Islam as a comprehensive system of life. Education system, judicial system, economic system, social system and political system that spreads far wide spread across the globe which will allow the world to prosper and be harmonious. What a victory that would be for the Muslim Ummah!!

We pray we witness these days very soon and the khair comes from this new change in Afghanistan.
