News Right Now: Tricked Again
The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, has selected his cabinet for his term. His cabinet includes Republican senator Marco Rubio who said earlier this year that “Israel” should destroy “every element” of Hamas, referring to them as “vicious animals.” In addition, Mike Huckabee was nominated, a former Arkansas governor and Zionist who supports occupation of the West Bank. Elise Stefanik is also a member, who called the UN a “cesspool of antisemitism” for its condemnation of deaths in Gaza. She was chosen as the US ambassador to the UN.
According to various strategists who have been analyzing the outcomes of the election, Muslim support for Trump helped him win Michigan and was a possible factor of his election in other swing states. Since Trump’s selection of his cabinet, Muslims all over the United States who had faith that he would work to end the genocide in Palestine, are expressing feelings of betrayal and disappointment. Unfortunately, many of our brothers and sisters in America were played by Trump’s strategic use of vague diplomatic language and campaign tricks. Trump leveraged his connections with his daughter in law’s father, who is Lebanese, to speak to Muslims and convince Arab and Muslim leaders to influence their communities in his favor. Now that the smoke and mirrors of his campaign have dissipated, Muslims are waking up the reality that Trump, just like any other presidential candidate, would not lift a finger to end the genocide carried out by the brutal and ruthless Zionist entity.
Brothers and sisters, our Ummah has suffered from attacks, oppression, and starvation in all forms- physically and intellectually. Why do we continue to perpetuate this suffering through our own intellectual fallacies? Our hearts yearn for peace in Palestine, Lebanon, and all corners of the world where we are suffering. Our stomachs yearn for the fullness of those of our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Our eyes flood with that of the mothers who lose their children in unimaginable, horrific ways at the hands of the Zionist entity. Our bodies shake with those children who are in shock from witnessing the murders of their friends and siblings by the IODF. But why do we fail to see that the Zionist entity and its western supporters are one in the same? Why do you not see that you placed your trust in a system bound to betray you? Our Rabb has forbidden the participation in any system which does not recognize Him as sovereign.
Allah (swt) states in verse 50 of Surat Al-Maidah:
[أَفَحُكْمَ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِيَّةِ يَبْغُونَ ۚ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حُكْمًۭا لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُوقِنُونَ]
“Do they seek the judgment of ignorance? But who is better than Allah in judgment for a people who are certain?” [Surah Al-Ma’idah, Ayah 50]
When our Ummah is reminded of this, we hear excuses of how it's impractical, it's not something we can work for at the moment, and we have to do what's “in our power” for the time being. What did this so-called “power” bring you? The illusion of this democratic, secular system repeatedly fools Muslims in America. And now those of us who voted are feeling regret, panic, despair, after placing hope in a jaahil and kuffar system. In every salah, we repeat the shahadah, saying la ilaha illallah, muhammadur rasulullah. That there is no Creator but Allah (swt) and that Mohammad is his messenger. In every salah, we ask Allah (swt) for guidance on the straight path, saying:
[ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ]
"Guide us along the Straight Path, the Path of those You have blessed—not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray."
And yet as soon as we end our prayers, we regress to actions which contradict what we beg Allah (swt) for. We place our hopes and trust in the Kuffar. We request help from traitors who are driven by nothing but a thirst for money and power which Allah (swt) warns us of many times in the Quran. What more will it take for Muslims to wake up to the reality that Kufr systems do not and will never represent Islam and Muslim interests? It is only the system of governance which our Creator commanded us to uphold and implement, the Khilafah Rashidah established upon the method of the Prophethood, that will cause our hopes to soar once again. It is only the Khilafah that will liberate Al-Aqsa, rescue Lebanon, free all Muslim lands, and return our Ummah to its rightful state of glory.
