Hizb-ut-Tahrir Britain held a meeting for local Pakistani community leaders, with media in attendance in London on 1st February 2010 to discuss the ongoing crisis in Pakistan.
Hizb ut Tahrir Britain formally launched its report ‘Afghanistan and Pakistan: The Unwinnable War' at a Press Conference in central London today. The report launch coincided with the London Conference on Afghanistan to be hosted by the British Prime Minster Gordon Brown and Hamid Karzai on Thursday 28th January.
This month the nation will remember with great sadness and grief the premeditated killing of brave army officers at the Pilkhana BDR head quarters in February last year. The government of Sheikh Hasina collaborated with the Indian polytheist state to weaken the BDR and the Army of Bangladesh. We remember the brutality of the conspirators and murderers, who carried out heinous crimes for three days and nights (25-27th February, 2009). We remember how they tortured and brutally murdered unarmed officers, how they raped and killed their wives including pregnant women. Then they savagely mutilated and burnt dead bodies beyond any recognition.
We will not forget how the government prevented the army from quelling the so-called mutiny in the name of finding a ‘political solution' allowing ample time for the killers to complete their killing spree. We remember how the government hurriedly declared a general amnesty for the rebels without confirming the fate of the officers and their families. All the while Nanak, Azam and Taposh were frequenting in and out of the BDR compound feeling safe and secure in such a hostile situation as if they had prior understanding with the murderers. And they arranged for the rebels to flee from the scene by announcing on live TV for residents to vacate the locality and blacking out the entire area. And to hide its crimes the government conjured up theories of conspiracies to weaken the government and involvement of ‘militants'. Furthermore to rub salt in open wounds, Sheikh Hasina's ‘perceptive' advisor and son Sajeeb Wajed Joy stated at that time that the so-called mutineers had legitimate grievances (interview on al-Jazeera). The government committed this treacherous act to please the imperialists immediately after coming to power. Despite their empty promises, one year on, they have failed to take any step towards completing the investigation and trial of the killers.
O Muslims!
It has been one year since the government came to power but it has done nothing to fulfill its promises to the people. The government has not fulfilled its biggest promise - the promise to curb the price hike of essential commodities. They promised not to do anything against the Qur'an and Sunnah but they did contrary to that by adopting the education policy which aims to eradicate any trace of the Qur'an and Sunnah from the education system. And now they are talking about banning political Islam with the aim of preventing the return of Islam as a way of life for the Muslims, who are desperate for this.
However they are doing everything to fulfill the promises they made to their masters who brought them to power in the first place. On one side it is serving the crusader America. So they are building an airbase in Cox's Bazaar to serve America's purpose in the region. And in November 2009, the government arranged the joint exercise, "Tiger Shark", in Chittagong between Bangladesh army and the American military. They are negotiating to sign TIFA with America which will increase her control over the country's economy. On the other side it is making agreements with the polytheist enemy India which amount to nothing less than surrender. On her visit to Delhi, Sheikh Hasina agreed to hand over Chittagong and Mongla ports to India. She granted India transit through Ashugonj port. She agreed to form a joint coordination committee with Indian intelligence agencies - in other words, RAW - to combat ‘international terrorism' which is another name for the imperialist's war against Islam. She made these deals on the anniversary of her government coming to power. As if the treachery of the Pilkhana massacre a year ago wasn't enough to please Delhi.
Is it any wonder that Shiekh Hasina received the Indira Gandhi peace prize for being a crusader ‘against militancy'?! This was how the Indian president Pratiba Patil described her. And Sheikh Hasina compared Indira Gandhi as her mother in gratitude for how she looked after her during her exile in India. You will also recall that while she was in exile Pranab Mukherjee was her neighbour and political mentor. Then on her return from the visit, Sheikh Hasina described the achievements of her visit by comparing herself to Duryudan, the villain of Hindu scripture ‘Mahabarath'! So this is the true Shiekh Hasina, all in all a loyal agent of the crusaders and polytheists.
O Muslims!
The kufr democratic system cannot offer you anyone better as your leader, neither Awami league nor the BNP alliance who wait for instructions from their masters to declare their political programmes. In fact under this kufr democratic system Bangladesh earned the reputation of one of the worst 20 failing states in the world in 2009. Re-establishing the Khilafah "Caliphate" state is an obligation on the neck of the Ummah. It was narrated from Nafi' that Abdullah ibn Umar said:
ٍ عَنْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ قال ((سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ خَلَعَ يَدًا مِنْ طَاعَةٍ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا حُجَّةَ لَهُ وَمَنْ مَاتَ وَلَيْسَ فِي عُنُقِهِ بَيْعَةٌ مَاتَ مِيتَةً جَاهِلِيَّةً)) رواه مسلم
"I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: 'Whoever withdraws his hand from obedience (to the Amir) will find no proof for himself when he meets Allah on the Day of Judgment, and whoever dies without having an oath of allegiance (Bay'ah) on his neck he would die the death of Jahiliyyah." [Muslim, Sahih, #1851]
In this hadith the Prophet (SAW) obliged every Muslim to have a pledge of allegiance (bay'ah) on his neck. He describes the one that dies without having such a bay'ah on his neck as dying a death of jahiliyyah. After the Messenger of Allah (SAW), bay'ah is only given to the Khaleefah. Since the hadith obliges the existence of a bay'ah on the neck of every Muslim it also obliges the appointment of a Khaleefah.

The criminal government responded by arresting dozens of party members and activists. Subsequently they banned the party at the behest of their imperialist masters. Now we issue this leaflet to offer you guidance at this crucial time when the imperialists are establishing an upper hand over the Muslims of the country due to the treachery of Shiekh Hasina, who is following the footsteps of the rulers before her who were in authority since the establishment of the country:

"Give to the hypocrites the tidings that there is for them a painful torment. Those who take disbelievers for Auliyah' (protectors or helpers or friends) instead of believers, do they seek honour, power and glory with them? Verily, then to Allah belongs all honour, power and glory". [TMQ an-Nisaa': 138-139]
Awami League leader and former MP Dr Iqbal together with his thugs forced one activist of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Muhammad Newaz Ashequine, into his car and took him to the police station yesterday from Banani Masjid. Ashequine studies at the prestigious North South University and is the son of a civil servant (Deputy Secretary). He was distributing the leaflet issued by Hizb ut-Tahrir calling for the removal of Sheikh Hasina and her government and the re-establishment of the Khilafah "Caliphate". The title of the leaflet is: Remove Sheikh Hasina and her government, the agent of US-India, collaborator in the Pilkhana killings; and Re-establish the Khilafah "Caliphate". In the leaflet the party said the government of Sheikh Hasina collaborated with the Indian polytheist state in the killing of army officers at the BDR headquarters in February 2009 to weaken the BDR and the Army of Bangladesh.
Another activist of Hizb ut-Tahrir was surrounded by about 20 Awami League activists at a mosque in Muhammadpur where he was distributing the leaflet. At the time many musallis gathered and challenged them. However despite the Ummah's protests, they forcibly took him to the police. Awami League activists in Mirpur also beat and injured Hizb ut-Tahrir activists outside a mosque. The police and RAB (Rapid Action Battalion) also arrested seven Hizb ut-Tahrir activists from various mosques despite protests from the public. In Sylhet, outside the Shah Jalal mosque the people protested against RAB officers when they came to arrest two party activists. The Ummah asked them why they were harassing them; they are saying what is right and true.
The government's policy of proscription, arrests and using its party thugs against Hizb ut-Tahrir shows that they will do everything to suppress the voice of the Ummah. Sheikh Hasina and her government take swift steps against anyone who challenges its treachery and exposes its subservience to the imperialists. It should be mentioned here that the government arrested dozens of Hizb ut-Tahrir members and activists last year for exposing the government's role in the Pilkhana killings. Moreover they also sacked army officers who protested against the government's role in the killings. On the other hand the government does not show any reaction to the aggressive actions against the Muslims by the kafir-mushrik enemies. Two days ago the Indian BSF shot at BDR officers, wounded one of them and dragged him inside the territory of India. But Sheikh Hasina and her government have not even uttered one word to challenge the Indian government.
