Imran Khan's first speech as Pakistan's 22nd prime minister on 19 August 2018 made repeated references to the glorious era of the Khulafa'a Rashideen. There is no doubt that the Muslims of Pakistan consider that Islam should be the standard for ruling. Discussion about ruling by the Quran and the Sunnah, the Madinah State, the Islamic System and the Khilafah (Caliphate) are in the mainstream now.

In their forceful suppression of the political call for Islam as a way of life, the rulers of Pakistan have abandoned the high regard that Islam has given for the honor of the Muslim woman. In the very early hours of the night of Monday 13 August 2018, security agency personnel raided the home of Dr. Romana Roshan and abducted her along with her husband.

In the early hours of 30 July 2018, intelligence personnel abducted Sister Romana Hussain, a respected, renowned teacher (معلمة) of Islam and mother of four children.. Upon finding literature of Hizb ut Tahrir in her home in Karachi, these thugs seized her, not caring for the sanctity of the home or depriving her children of her care.

Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Pakistan has undertaken a strong campaign ahead of Pakistan's general elections on 25 July 2018. It has distributed leaflets, organized public addresses and put up banners in public places.
