Afghanistan’s Parliamentary Election and the Role of Women!

On Saturday, the 20th October 2018, the parliamentary elections took place in Afghanistan. According to the report of the United Nation Assistant Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) 16 percent (417 persons) of the candidates were women and the current statistics from the Independent Election Commission (IEC) reported that women make up approximately 32 percent of total registered voters.

The Khimar Ban in the Islamic Academy in Tashkent!

Another 60 students remain at risk of facing the same fate because they did not return to classes after they were made to choose between taking off the Khimar or being expelled from the academy.
