Felani, a 15 years old Muslim girl in Bangladesh has become yet another victim of shoot to kill policy administered by notorious BSF (Border Security Force) of India. This is a story that reveals how countless numbers of Muslims in the border districts of Bangladesh have been a target of the Indian shoot to kill policy. Indeed the story of Felani is a touchy one. She was returning from her father's work place in Nayadilli, India becasue her marriage had been arranged in her home district in Bangladesh. On Friday, 07 January, 2011 at 6am she and her father were climbing the illegal barbed wire boundary built by India between Bangladesh and Indian International Border No. 947, between 3^rd and 4^th pillar of Anantapur, Fulbari. Her father, Nur Mia crossed first. But at that time Felani's clothes got entangled in the wire. She was frightened and started screaming. Hearing her scream, the BSF members started shooting at her, at 6.15am. She was asking for water till her death, about 30 minutes after shooting but nobody was there, not even her father because of the fear of notorious BSF's bullets. The dead body of Felani was tangled in barbed wire for around 4 hours. Then the coward Indian Security Force (BSF)'s took away the body at 10:45am. After 30 hours BSF handed over the dead body to BDR, the Bangladesh border guards. This has happened despite the fact that, like many others from Kurigram, a desperately poor district in northern Bangladesh, Felani's father had paid 3,000 rupees ($65) to traffickers on the Indian side for his crossing.

Indeed Indian notorious BSF kills with such impunity along India's 4,100-kilometre (2,550-mile) border with Bangladesh that one local journalist wondered what the story is about! According to Human Rights Watch, India's force has killed almost 1,000 Bangladeshis over the past ten years. That implies a shooting every four days! Almost the same number of people has been abducted; more than 1000 people have been injured; and more than 300 has been raped during the same time. The death toll on Bangladeshi side killed by Indian BSF dwarfs the number killed attempting to cross the inner German border during the entire cold war period!

How treacherous it is that, when such a crime has taken place, instead of accounting the Indian government or calling the Indian High Commissioner for an appropriate explanation, the government in Bangladesh led by Sheikh Hasina has not allowed newspapers to cover this story, until 3^rd February when Anandabazar Newspaper, a leading Bangla-language newspaper in Kolkata, India and The Economist (London) published this story. Not just that, when some locals and opposition leaders have tried to create attention to the people and media about this issue by printing posters with the hanging picture of Felani the government of Sheikh Hasina arrested them and put them behind bar. Moreover, when a local nationalist think tank organization ‘Patriots of Bangladesh' led by Wing Commander (retired) Hamidullah Khan in a press conference in Dhaka announced that they will collect some amount of money to support Felani`s family, which they wish to give to Felani`s father in a scheduled visit to Kurigram district on 8^th Feb 2011, the government in the meantime took away Falani`s entire family to an undisclosed location. Furthermore, the government declared section 144 (banning the holding of any assembly, protest, meeting, press conference etc.) with the flimsy excuse that government affiliated youth and student organization called Jubo League and Chatra League both have declared meeting in the same village, thereby successfully foiling the program declared by ‘Patriots of Bangladesh'. When on 9<sup>th</sup> Feb the organization tried to hold a press conference in protest of the government action in the district press club, police stopped them, threatened them with arrest and forced them to return to Dhaka. Earlier, the government has arrested more than 15 members of 000 000 for the party`s successful campaign against government's two years of pro US-British-Indian and anti-Islamic policies.    

This is how this government of Sheikh Hasina is treating those who speak for the people of Bangladesh and exposes her subservience to her crusader and polytheist US-British-Indian masters. While this is the only border, along with the illegitimate ‘Israel-Palestine border', where the Indian government has fenced the entire land zones without respecting any international law or norms what so ever in this regard or where such a policy of shot to kill is applied (!), this treacherous government of Sheikh Hasina has remained on the side of India, not on the side of the Muslims in Bangladesh. Indeed the ummah of Bangladesh fully know that when in this very month of February 2009, just one month after taking power, this government has actively helped an Indian orchestrated so called BDR mutiny which killed more than 70 including 57 top ranked army officers as a part of weakening the army of Bangladesh as well as destroying the BDR forces in broad day light in the headquarter of BDR in the heart of Dhaka, how can this government protect the life of a unknown Felani of 15 years old in the remote village of Kurigram district? However, such a treachery is not unnoticed by the sincere politicians of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the ummah and inshaAllah when the inevitable Khilafah "Caliphate" is established such crimes of Hasina will be served with proper justice and India will be given an appropriate and befitting response.
